Aspis is expanding its audiovisual services team and seeking a customer-focused Level 3 AV Service Technician Team Lead to provide onsite AV and video teleconference (VTC) support at a secure federal campus in Kansas City. In this senior-level role you will keep conference and VTC rooms running for senior leaders — setting up calls, supporting live meetings, and performing first-line troubleshooting and break-fix. This is a full-time, onsite position, with schedule to be determined by team lead after hire (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). It is not a remote position.

This is a full-time W-2 position supporting a federal government client as part of a contract delivery team. This is not a remote position, you must be able to commute to and work from a job site in the Kansas City metropolitan area Monday-Friday. This position is ineligible for telework. Relocation assistance may be considered. The Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area is strongly preferred and candidates who reside in and can work from the Kansas City metro will receive preference; however, residency there is not required, and we will consider candidates elsewhere in the United States who apply. Due to the support a federal client, working abroad (outside of the United States) is explicitly prohibited. Travel to Kansas City will not be reimbursed. An AV Service Technician may perform any combination of the functions below based on assignment and experience level.

Level 3 — Maintenance, Repair & Certification

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain all AV and VTC conference-room equipment; support senior-leader meetings and VTC sessions.
  • Support high-visibility senior-leader meetings and VTC sessions; resolve connectivity and equipment issues. 
  • Complete room certification inspections twice per year; identify and replace equipment nearing end of life; keep user guides to current standard.
  • Reprogram room control equipment so it functions as equipment is replaced, completing reprogramming within 5 business days.
  • Maintain in-house spare inventory, produce/update room schematic drawings and step-by-step user guides, and escalate to the support desk within 2 hours when onsite repair is unsuccessful.
  • Provide offsite response to satellite buildings within 4 hours and ensure SLA targets are met. 

Team Lead — Supervision & Coordination

  • Serve as the local, single direct point of contact for Honeywell FM&T; may supervise other onsite technicians, assigning and prioritizing work and overseeing quality and performance.
  • Manage schedules, KPIs, and reporting; produce the monthly report and attend the monthly metrics/rooms review meeting.
  • Ensure SLA targets are met (90% onsite response within 1 hour; 90% offsite within 4 hours; 90% onsite/VTC resolution within 1 hour) and coordinate same-level backups across the coverage window.
  • Own the escalation path to the Tier-3 support desk and manage close-out handoff of drawings, code files, configurations, and passwords. 

  • Expertise across AV/VTC platforms (e.g., Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Biamp/QSC, SVSI) and control-system programming.
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose, repair, and reprogram AV/VTC equipment and to support live meetings for senior leaders
  • Strong customer-service orientation and clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to lift and mount displays/equipment, work on ladders/lifts, and follow cabling and TEMPEST red/black separation standards .
  • Team Lead: at least 1 year of supervisory experience and program/operations management experience or a leading certification (e.g., Project+, CAPM).

  • Successful completion of an OF-306 (as a contractor).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance (SCI certification required for SCIF access). 
  • Must pass Access Suitability Screening 

Location: Onsite at Kansas City metropolitan area jobsite; not a remote position.

Degree Required: High school diploma/GED required; associate's or technical training preferred; equivalent experience/certifications considered.

Experience Required: Level 3 Lead (5+ yrs plus supervisory); 5+ years of AV/VTC hands-on support or technical-services experience. 

Industry Certifications: Tiered by level — manufacturer/industry certification preferred at entry; AVIXA CTS and/or advanced manufacturer certifications required; leadership certification a plus. AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification; manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Cisco). Experience with Cisco Call Manager/VTC platforms, control-system programming, and AV-over-IP (e.g., SVSI).
