job summary:
The Scrum Master is responsible for guiding Agile teams in applying Scrum principles, removing barriers to progress, and enabling continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Process Owners, cross‑functional teams, and leadership to define and ensure delivery of high‑quality products that meet business value objectives. The Scrum Master serves as a servant-leader, coach, and facilitator to help teams work efficiently and collaboratively.

Local to Charlotte is a strong preference (if they are not in Charlotte then they MUST have a strong prior connection to Charlotte and a plan for moving) - THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Scrum Facilitation

Document Requirements

Facilitate all Kanban ceremonies

Ensure the team maintains a healthy product backlog and definition of done.

Team Coaching & Support

Coach the team to adopt Agile values, mindset, and principles.

Support team members in understanding their roles and in working collaboratively.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Impediment Removal

Identify and remove obstacles that hinder team progress.

Escalate issues appropriately while protecting the team's focus.

Agile Delivery Management

Track progress and monitor delivery metrics

Ensure timely and predictable delivery of deliverables

Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with Product Owners/Process Owners to refine and prioritize the backlog.

Facilitate clear communication between the team and stakeholders.

Help stakeholders understand Agile processes and expectations.

Process Improvement

Introduce and support Agile best practices.

Encourage experimentation and learning through data-driven decisions.

qualifications:
Core Skills

Strong understanding of Agile frameworks

Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

Either a former developer or have strong background in technology (preferably in security) - The successful candidate will be able to work with our internal security department to problem solve and arrive at solutions

Ability to coach teams and individuals at varying levels of Agile maturity.

Strong conflict-resolution and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to remove roadblocks and navigate organizational challenges.

Technical/Tool Knowledge

Experience with JIRA and other Agile tools

Understanding of product development lifecycle and basic technical concepts.

Soft Skills

Servant‑leadership mindset.

Empathy and emotional intelligence.

Adaptability and resilience.

Ability to influence without authority.

Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

Experience

Typically 2-5+ years of experience in Agile or Scrum roles.

Background working with cross-functional software or business teams.
